Who Should Attend: The PRINCE2 Agile qualifications are intended for anyone involved in projects looking to introduce agile concepts and techniques, as well as for those working in non-project environments looking to adopt agile ways of working. It is also relevant to project management personnel, agile practitioners, project management office members, and other project-related roles, such as business analysts and change managers.
Official Prerequisites: PeopleCert requires one of the following certifications as a prerequisite for the PRINCE2 Agile (Version 2) Practitioner exam. PeopleCert will not release exam results without proof of certification.

Certification Alignment: This course helps you prepare for the PRINCE2 Agile (Version 2) Practitioner certification exam.
Certification Expectations: Attendees should expect that some study outside of course hours will be required for certification success. The amount of self-study will depend on prior familiarity with the topic. Passing the exam is not guaranteed.

Exam Delivery: You will receive an exam voucher and a link to register and schedule your online exam session with the PeopleCert web proctoring service. What to Expect

Exam Prep Course: This course is designed to help you prepare for a certification exam. You can expect coverage of all exam learning objectives, with a focus on understanding key concepts, terminology, and how they’re assessed. For a deeper, more hands-on learning experience, consider Course 3644, Agile Project Management.
Content Volume: Certification courses cover a large amount of material in a short time. Instructors prioritise content tied to exam objectives and supplementary topics will be addressed as time allows.
Class Pace: Certification courses are fast-paced and adhere to a strict schedule so that all exam objectives are covered. While discussions and examples are included, the focus remains on certification readiness.
Outside of Class Study Time: Plan for self-study outside of class, especially if the concepts are new to you. Passing the exam is not guaranteed.

Learning Objectives

Required Pre-Course Preparation

Review the pre-course communication from Learning Tree to understand how to access all your course materials.
Ensure you have access to your PeopleCert and My Learning Tree portals before the start of class. Reach out to Learning Tree customer service if you are having trouble.
Familiarise yourself with the PRINCE2 Agile official eBook available in your PeopleCert portal.
Be prepared for up to two hours of study after class each evening, depending on your prior level of familiarity with the course material.

Practitioner Module 1: Introduction to PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner

Familiarise with the key aspects and features of the course.
Review the project scenario used with the sample exam questions
Recall some of the key concepts of the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation course.

Practitioner Module 2: Agile mindset, project management, and organisational change management

Explain the benefits of adopting an agile mindset, differentiating between ‘being agile’ and ‘doing agile’.
Apply key characteristics of the agile mindset.
Understand and apply PRINCE2 Agile principles in project performance areas.
Describe the importance of organisational change management and key considerations for building and leading successful agile teams.

Practitioner Module 3: The PRINCE2 Agile practices and their application

Understand how PRINCE2 Project Management practices are tailored for an agile context.
Apply agile artifacts and techniques in project planning and execution.
Analyse the effectiveness of approaches to applying PRINCE2 Agile practices and roles, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
Demonstrate the ability to integrate agile roles into PRINCE2 Project Management structures.

Practitioner Module 4: The PRINCE2 Agile processes and their application

Apply the processes demonstrating an understanding of process activities, associated workshops and artifacts in an agile context.
Analyse whether the processes are effectively tailored and fit for purpose in an agile context, taking into consideration: activities, associated workshops, and artifacts.

Practitioner Module 5: The application of PRINCE2 Agile in the wider context

Apply PRINCE2 Agile within agile product management.
Apply PRINCE2 Agile guidance when transitioning from agile projects to operations.
Apply PRINCE2 Agile guidance during continuous agile development and operations.

You will receive an exam voucher and a link to register and schedule your online exam session with the PeopleCert web proctoring service. You will sit your exam after you have completed your training course at a date and time that fits your schedule. Visit the PeopleCert website for more information.

Take2 is the exam re-sit option, if you are not successful on your first attempt. This complimentary benefit is available for all attendees for publicly scheduled course events of this PeopleCert class. After your exam, you will be notified by PeopleCert that you are eligible to register for the exam re-sit.

Please note that you must re-sit the exam within six months of your initial exam.

All PeopleCert Business and IT certifications (including PRINCE2, ITIL and DOI) must be renewed within three years of their original certification date. There are two ways to keep certifications current: 

Join PeopleCert Plus (a paid annual membership) to maintain your certifications.

Earn another certification from the same within the PRINCE2 Project, Programme & Portfolio Management Suite. All certifications will renew at the same time as your latest certification.

Yes! Project management, at its best, is a facilitator and enabler of your chosen delivery approach. It should not limit or disable your solution. PRINCE2 Agile is about tailoring PRINCE2 to enable agile working to succeed in a project environment. It does not limit agile, nor does it suggest that your agile solution needs to change. PRINCE2 Agile adds the benefits of excellent governance without losing the benefits of outstanding delivery.

No! PRINCE2 has a long and very successful history of enabling waterfall-based solutions and approaches. However, it is not itself a waterfall, nor is it limited in any way to waterfall working. PRINCE2 can support any delivery approach. PRINCE2 Agile describes it as doing that for agile working.

The most successful agile frameworks describe small delivery teams working collaboratively and delivering little and often. They are discovery-based and adaptive. They favour customers represented by a single individual (product owner) and business value being the driver for work selected and delivered. On a small scale, they are all you need to succeed.

However, as the scale grows — multiple customers, multiple teams, more effective products and broader goals and objectives — they do not offer any way of managing these challenges. This is the environment that PRINCE2 was built for. A way of working that decides what projects to do, sets up the environment for success, regularly checks that a business justification for the work exists and continues, escalates significant issues, reports progress to senior management and coordinates multiple teams working.

Bring both together with a strong emphasis on “protecting the delivery approach from anything that will make it less effective or efficient.” So you can have the best of both worlds — Demonstrable governance and effective delivery.
